Building a More Diverse and Inclusive Design Industry

It's no secret that design has a diversity and inclusion problem. Too many places, products, and services are designed without input from the people who ultimately use them, and too often, the people around the design table do not reflect the diverse reality we live in.

Something needs to change - and not just within the design profession itself, but with how we educate designers and how we foster a more inclusive design community overall.

On July 23rd, we hosted our 4th Detroit Design: Listening Session. Our director of community and culture, Kiana Wenzell, moderated an engaging conversation with leaders from Detroit's design community on these important topics. Thank you to our panelists:
