State of Urban Manufacturing
Together with Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA), we released research highlighting the state of small batch manufacturing in Detroit. The State of Urban Manufacturing: Detroit Snapshot is the second of a six-city series produced by UMA that will provide first-of-its-kind data on city-based manufacturing across the country, with an emphasis on makers and small-scale manufacturers.
Our Shared Vision, Detroit as a global leader in inclusive design
After obtaining the UNESCO designation in 2015, Design Core underwent an 18-month long process of formulating the Detroit City of Design Action Plan. The end result featured input from over 1000 Detroiters representing a wide variety of neighborhoods, industries and experiences. The vision, strategy and recommendations outlined in the Action Plan are the final outcome of Design Core’s plan to activate Detroit’s UNESCO City of Design Designation and drive inclusive and equitable growth through 2025.
