06:00 pm to 08:00 pm
Saturday, 09/23/2023
611 West Philadelphia Street, Detroit, Michigan 48202

Design, florals, and music come together to spotlight environmental sustainability with a fashion show showcasing a collection of wearables created with sustainably sourced materials. Each look will be modeled on a runway adorned by a large hanging floral installation collaboratively constructed by local floral designers with foraged materials, dried leftovers, and donations from local farmers and company sponsors. Viewers will be moved sonically through the event with a soundtrack created by local musicians to accompany the visual experience. Detroit’s floral designers, fashion designers, models, farmers, and musicians will help us explore our experience of climate change – the science, politics, anxiety, denial, extreme weather, and more. We are no longer at the threshold of climate change; we are in its midst, and all have lived experiences of it. Only in our unification can we make positive changes for future generations.
