To honor Gucci’s new permanent home in the city, Gucci is pleased to participate in the 12th annual Detroit Month of Design with the 2022 Gucci Changemakers Scholars exhibition entitled "Building a Lasting Impact" at MOCAD, on view from September 9 until September 11. Curated by Kiana Wenzell, Co-Executive Director of Design Core Detroit, the presentation will highlight the work of the 2022 Gucci Changemakers Scholars application portfolios. The Gucci Changemakers initiative focuses on young creatives and social change visionaries using their unique perspectives to catalyze lasting social change that improves our shared humanity.
Since its launch in 2019, Gucci Changemakers has invested more than $2.5 million in multi-year grant funding to organizations working to promote social good in diverse communities throughout North America. This presentation marks Gucci Changemakers second collaboration with Design Core Detroit. In 2019, the organization's Design in the City competition was made possible by a $45,000 grant from Gucci Changemakers.
