Science Gallery Detroit is proud to launch its third annual exhibition, Future Present: Design in a Time of Urgency, during Detroit Month of Design. Made possible by Science Sandbox and MSUFCU, the exhibition will open in downtown Detroit at 1001 Woodward on Friday, September 11 and run through December 11, 2020.
Future Present will explore humanity’s nuanced relationship to various forms of design and the impact it has on the future. Further, the exhibition will illustrate three key themes as it relates to design: the impact of technology on society; design and systemic change; and creating participatory design processes for a sustainable future. Future Present will include a robust array of virtual programming, including a Curators’ Talk co-presented with Ars Electronica Festival 2020 featuring Olga Stella, executive director of Detroit Design Core, and Cezanne Charles, partner at roofoftwo.
