Join us for a THF Curator Chat on Twitter with Katherine White, September 22, 1:00 PM exploring Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation's latest pop-up exhibit and related artifacts focused on Universal Design for Aging. Designs for elder care and aging populations often have universal application. Our autumn pop-up exhibit explores how key designers of the late 20th century utilized user research and ergonomic design to create products specifically suited to ease the dynamic challenges of older adults. These studies and products show us that when designers pay attention the unique needs of unique bodies, everyone benefits. Guests visiting the pop-up exhibit can use QR codes to provide feedback on the featured collection items, the label tone and style, and to suggest ways to include universal design history, rooted in the disabililty rights movement, within the broader context of movements promoting greater liberty & justice for all as part of our upgrades to the permanent With Liberty & Justice for All exhibition.
