The School of Architecture at the University of Detroit Mercy is one of several professional schools at the university, which was founded in Detroit in 1877. The school includes undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture, a graduate program in community development, and the Detroit Collaborative Design Center.

Detroit Collaborative Design Center, Community Outreach

Proposed Inclusive Community Design Workshop – We will develop an “Introduction to Inclusive Design Principles” workshop for residents and community members to provide inclusive design basics for architecture and urban design including principles of design excellence, public interest design and community-based design. This initial two-day workshop could be extended as a series that occurs annually or multiple times a year. The workshop in envisioned as a collaboration among Design Core Detroit, Detroit Mercy School of Architecture and Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD).
