In 1928, the Fisher Building was born. 60 years later, it was designated a historic landmark and celebrated as the ‘largest art object in Detroit.’ In 2017, The Platform, stewards of the Fisher Building, paid homage to the architect, artisans and artists who built this masterpiece by dedicating the 4th floor of the building to emerging creatives. A new generation of artists and designers were offered accessible space at a prominent address to house their studios — and, most importantly, exposure and opportunity to grow their practice. The 4th Floor is what happens when inspiring space is paired with talented people and potential opportunity. It is where real estate development meets economic development with intention. The 4th Floor Yearbook is a snapshot of this evolving piece of the Fisher Building and the creatives housed here. We hope that you will get to know and tap into this talent, as we do.
