The 2023 Detroit City of Design Challenge - Application is OPEN
How it Works
Design Teams will have until March 19, 2023 to submit their applications. The Community Advisory Council will review applications and select up to six teams with existing or emerging community resiliency concepts to participate in the 2023 Challenge. Accepted teams will receive a stipend, training in inclusive design techniques, and access to people, places, and resources to support their design skills over the spring/summer. Each team will pitch their concept in September 2023 to the Advisory Council and up to three teams will be selected to receive additional funds to prototype and test their concepts, document their process and showcase their work at the 2024 Detroit Month of Design.
About
In partnership with Community Advocates of Detroit (CDAD), CultureSource, and College for Creative Studies, Design Core’s City of Design Challenge invites participants to explore ways to build community resiliency in times of disruption through resident driven ideas for unifying residents and building systems for connecting and communicating throughout the city. This program is made possible with financial support from the Hudson-Webber Foundation and is part of the Detroit City of Design initiative.
